Hockey Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager will report to the Head Coach and Hockey General Manager. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and technologically proficient individual who can effectively manage the day-to-day operations of a Division I hockey program. A primary responsibility will be serving as the team's video coordinator, coordination of team travel, assisting with budget management, and assisting the Head Coach with various administrative and operational duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Video Coordination (Primary Focus):
1. Serve as the program's lead video coordinator, responsible for all aspects of video breakdown, analysis, and presentation for practice and games.
Film all practices and games, both home and away.
Utilize advanced video editing software (e.g., XOS, SportsCode, InStat, SportsLogiq) to break down individual and team performance, both offensively and defensively.
Create scouting reports on opponents, including power play, penalty kill, and individual player tendencies.
Manage real-time video review during games for in-game coaching adjustments and for video review.
Work with coaches to prepare pre-scout videos for team meetings and individual player review.
Collaborate with the coaching staff to identify and highlight teaching points from game and practice footage.
Manage and maintain the program's video archives and equipment.
Stay current with the latest video analysis technologies and techniques in hockey.

Hockey Operations:
Plan and coordinate all aspects of team travel, including flights, bus transportation, hotel accommodations, and practice ice times for away games. Develop efficient travel itineraries and manage logistics to ensure smooth operations.
Plan and manage team meals, both home and away, adhering to budget guidelines and performance nutritional considerations for student-athletes.
Manage team travel logistics and problem solve.
Ensure hockey operations adhere to NCAA, CCHA, and Lake Superior State University rules and regulations.

Financial Management:
Assist in management and monitoring the program's operating budget, tracking expenses and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Prepare, analyze and interpret the team’s financial condition by monitoring financial reports, recording significant changes, and making recommendations to Athletic Director and Head Coach.
Monitors student-athletes’ experience including on-campus housing issues, meal plans, financial aid applications and status, limitations of practice hours, class attendance, study hall hours.
Work with the Head Coach and University administration to develop and manage strategies related to NIL contracts, revenue-sharing and additional non-scholarship financial opportunites. This includes tracking, reporting, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies.
Process invoices, expense reports, and reconcile financial statements.
