Job Summary/Basic Function:
The NCAA Clock and Scoreboard Operator is responsible for the accurate and professional operation of the official game clock, shot clock, and scoreboard during Lake Superior State University home volleyball or basketball contests. This position plays a critical role in the integrity and flow of competition by ensuring that all timing and scoring functions comply with NCAA and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rules and regulations.
The operator works closely with game officials, the official scorer, and athletics game management staff to deliver a seamless and professional game-day experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans.
Minimum Qualifications:
General understanding of basketball or Volleyball rules, timing procedures, and game flow.
Strong attention to detail, focus, and situational awareness in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with officials and game staff.
Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism during all assigned events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience operating a basketball or Volleyball game clock or scoreboard at the collegiate or high school level.
Familiarity with Daktronics scoring and timing systems.
Knowledge of NCAA basketball timing and scoring regulations.
