Title: Associate Athletic Director for External Relations and Revenue Generation

Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Associate Athletic Director (AD) for External Relations and Revenue Generation provides strategic leadership and oversight of the department’s revenue generation and external engagement efforts. This position is responsible for driving and managing key revenue streams, including oversight of ticket sales operations and corporate partnership development, while ensuring alignment with the department’s broader strategic and financial goals. Additionally, the role oversees Athletic Department business office operations. The Associate AD works collaboratively to enhance the fan experience, strengthen community and corporate relationships, and support the long-term sustainability and growth of LSSU Athletics. Serve as a member of the Athletic Department’s Senior Staff and Leadership Team planning for department wide initiatives, projects and vision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

1. In alignment with the Athletic Director, responsible for strategy and execution of Athletic Department revenue generation.

2. Responsible for all ticketing systems, sales, audit and reconciliation.

3. Oversight of all ticket operations for department events and athletic contests including management of ticket software system.

4. Collaborate in individual, group, season, and corporate sponsor ticket packages.

5. Oversight of intercollegiate programs as assigned by the Athletic Director.

6. Work cooperatively with campus offices on external relations and community programs, events and communication platforms.

7. Oversee design and execution of all corporate sponsorship programs with focus on external fund development for the department.

8. Collaborate on budget planning, track all revenue sources for department.

9. Oversight of Athletic Department business office operations, ensuring fiscal accountability, efficient processes, and effective resource management.

10. Responsible for collaborating with University Business Office to create and manage invoices and payment methods from all corporate sponsors and arena suite rentals.

11. Oversee student staff as needed.

12. Conduct postseason climate surveys for all NCAA and ACHA programs.

13. Develop and conduct new staff onboarding as it pertains to external relations and

14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director consistent with skills and abilities to advance and ensure the effect and efficient operation of LSSU.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Valid Driver’s License
3. Professional experience in revenue generation and management.
4. Professional experience in athletic ticket sales management.
5. Thorough knowledge of institutional, NCAA, Conference rules, policies and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in Sports Administration or related field of study
2. Five or more years’ experience in NCAA athletic administration

Physical Demands:

Adequate health and fitness to maintain long hours, full schedule, and travel with teams, as required. Ability to represent the University in public appearances, promotional and recruiting activities.

Work Hours: 

In addition to Mon-Fri, weekends and evening expected

These essential roles support the execution of home athletic events for Laker Hockey, Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball, ensuring a professional and entertaining experience for student-athletes, fans, and visitors.
