Job Summary/Basic Function:

Are you a hands on learner looking to gain valuable trades skills while earning money during the summer? Lake Superior State University's Facilities management team is seeking motivated student workers for our Summer 2026 semester.

As a student worker in Trades, you'll work alongside experienced professionals maintaining our beautiful campus. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Trades department and with maintenance and construction services for assigned buildings around campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled LSSU student

Self-Motivated individuals who enjoy problem-solving

Interest in developing practical trades skills

Strong Work Ethic and attention to safety

Physical Demands:

Some Heavy Lifting may be required ( 50lbs or more)

Work Hours: 

Monday - Friday; Up to 19 hours per week with Flexible scheduling

Build a professional portfolio in digital marketing, content strategy, brand management, and analytics tracking. Responsibilities include filming, editing, and publishing high-quality short-form videos (e.g. Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) highlighting engineering labs, campus life, and student club events. Design eye-catching graphics and flyers for departmental announcements using tools like Canva and Adobe Suite. Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and inquires from prospective students and families across SET social platforms. Launch interactive social campaigns, such as "Day in the Life" takeovers, live Q&A sessions, and student spotlights. Execute pre-event digital marketing campaigns to drive registration and engagement.

Charter Schools Office Student Worker

Charter Schools Office
This position is intended for a student worker who will provide ongoing support to the Lake Superior State University Charter Schools Office with a variety of weekly administrative and operational tasks. The student worker will assist with general office organization, preparation of materials, data entry, filing, communication, and other duties that support the day-to-day operations of the office. In addition, the position will provide opportunities for the student worker to assist with outreach initiatives, represent the Charter Schools Office at campus and community events, and participate in visits from LSSU-authorized academies. The student worker may also assist with preparing for academy visits, outreach activities, and other projects designed to strengthen connections between LSSU, the Charter Schools Office, and its authorized schools. This position will provide valuable hands-on experience in higher education administration, community outreach, and public education while supporting the overall mission and operations of the Charter Schools Office.

Student Worker - Athletics Ticket Office

Student ticket office staff is responsible for the sale & execution of all Laker Athletic ticket sales during all home contests. Students must have strong customer service skills, be effective communicators, be responsible with cash and monies, and be willing to learn the Vivenu ticketing software for all sales. Students may need to do miscellaneous tasks as well, including but not limited to, scanning tickets at entrance of venues, working the Will Call table, organizing pre-purchased tickets. Students will need to be available weeknights & weekends; primary days & hours are Thursday-Saturday, 12 PM-9 PM.
