Job Summary/Basic Function:
Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President & CHRO, this position directly serves as a senior HR generalist and supervises the HR Generalists and Payroll Coordinator, with an emphasis on customer service, quality of work, and responsiveness. Provides supervisory oversight for assigned HR, Payroll, and Benefits functions and programs. Additional duties include delivering training, coordinating special initiatives, and completing projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in human resources, management, leadership, business, or a related field.
-Five years of progressively more responsible professional-level directly related experience.
-Demonstrated ability to manage a busy office.
-Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to gather, organize, and analyze various data sets.
-Working knowledge and experience with various laws and regulations, such as FLSA.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Understanding of project management methodologies.
-Payroll system experience.
-Experience with Banner and Banner Payroll.
-Working understanding of a variety of human resource functions.
-Knowledge of unemployment compensation and workers' compensation.
-Knowledge of MPSERS and TIAA retirement plans.
Physical Demands:
Ability to hear a normal conversational voice and telephone conversation, with or without a hearing device; ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances; ability to read and understand written and spoken language; ability to see with or without vision aid and to concentrate long hours on a computer screen. Use of fine motor skills and dexterity to type and input computer information and for use of other business machines. Use of gross motor skills for filing, handling of paperwork and equipment. Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences; ability to understand and work with numbers and detail work.
