Job Summary/Basic Function:
Under the supervision of the Nurse Administrator, the Nursing Skills Lab Supervisor supports the operation, organization, and development of the Nursing Skills Lab while assisting with simulation learning activities and environments. Responsibilities include setup, maintenance, inventory, and coordination of nursing lab and simulation equipment, supplies, and learning resources. The position supports faculty and student learning through skills lab preparation, simulation support, technology assistance, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
Coordinates daily operations of the Nursing Skills Lab and assists with simulation activities and instructional spaces. Prepares, sets up, tests, and breaks down nursing skills labs and simulation experiences. Operates and assists with simulation technology, audiovisual systems, task trainers, and simulation manikins. Collaborates with faculty to support skills instruction, simulation scenarios, and student learning. Maintains and organizes equipment, supplies, records, and maintenance schedules while ensuring learning spaces remain safe, functional, and compliant with safety and infection control standards.
Provides orientation and support for faculty, staff, student employees, and learners using lab and simulation resources. Assists with scheduling, accreditation support, implementation of new technologies, and coordination with community and clinical partners. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with BSN degree and current Michigan licensure.
Experience in healthcare, nursing education, simulation, laboratory coordination, or related field preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
Physical Demands:
Ability to move and set up laboratory and simulation equipment; lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; stand or move for extended periods; and use standard office and instructional technology equipment.
