Coordinator of Athletic Equipment Services

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Determine requirements, certifications, reconditioning and specifications for all athletic equipment with various coaches, the Director and Associate Director of Athletics.

2. Serve as the primary contact and coordinator of Athletics Department protective equipment, padding, sport-specific equipment, uniforms, foot ware and athletic supply vendors.

3. In coordination with the Athletic Director, manage and execute licensing agreements as they relate directly to uniforms, foot ware and equipment.

4. In compliance with University ordering and purchasing policy, prepare requisitions and request purchase orders for new equipment; receive shipments; check against orders; release purchase orders for payment; record and store items in the proper locations.

5. Maintain up-to-date inventories in all areas; maintain security of all equipment storage areas and make certain all areas are locked; organize and control all equipment and supplies in the various storage areas.

6. Issue and maintain records of equipment and supplies as needed, marking and entering all items; receive and check in equipment after use and store in proper places.

7. Maintain, re-condition, repair and replace equipment as needed; sharpen and repair skates and restring racquets; keep all equipment and storage areas clean and ready for use; set up laundry schedule and procedures; clean and launder equipment as required; prepare equipment needed for athletic trips and home games.

8. Primary manager of skate sharpening for the LSSU NCAA Hockey Team.

9. Monitor all aspects associated with the transfer of all team equipment. Prepare locker rooms for the assigned LSSU teams (and visiting teams in those sports).

10. Assist coaches where needed; supervise, train and evaluate all assigned part-time, internship-based and student assistants; with coaches, supervise and train for the student manager program in intercollegiate activities; work unusual hours when requested by the Director or Associate Director of Athletics.

11. In conjunction with Athletic Trainers and Team Physicians, design and implement protective equipment and braces for prevention of injury as well as return to play from injury.

12. Maintain ongoing knowledge of best practices and advances in technology related to athletic equipment, practice gear and uniforms.

13. Other duties as determined by the Athletics Director.
