Job Summary/Basic Function:
Lake Superior State University is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as adjunct faculty members in our Prison Education program. As an adjunct instructor, you will have the unique opportunity to empower incarcerated individuals through transformative learning experiences. We welcome applications from enthusiastic educators with a commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments. Courses span a wide range of disciplines, but focus on Business, English, Math, & Communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters Degree in respective discipline and evidence of experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
ABD or doctorate in discipline with 3 or more years of experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
Experience teaching incarcerated individuals.
Physical Demands:
Typical demands of teaching for the university level exist, with the ability to stand up to 4 hours in a single class sessions. The ability to manage the physical demands of credits per semester.
