Job Summary/Basic Function:
Lake Superior State University is seeking a dedicated individual to teach accounting courses as part of our Prison Education Program at the Chippewa Correctional Facility. The first course, Accounting 132 – Principles of Accounting I, will be offered during the upcoming summer semester that begins in May 2025.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in accounting or closely related field
• Evidence of experience teaching at the undergraduate level
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in accounting or closely related field
• Three or more years of experience teaching at the undergraduate level
• Experience teaching incarcerated individuals
Physical Demands:
Typical demands of teaching at the university level exist, including the ability to stand up to four hours in a single class session and the ability to manage the physical demands of four credits per semester.
