Job Summary/Basic Function:
Primary responsibilities are cultivating prospects, inquiries, and applicants into enrolled students at Lake Superior State University (LSSU). Will be signed a territory that includes high schools, career and technical education centers, community colleges, as well as potential transfer students enrolled at other four-year institutions. Serves as LSSU’s primary liaison for all students, families, high school counselors, teachers, postsecondary educators and administrators within the assigned territory. Supports Admissions and Enrollment Services activities, including, but not limited to: events, orientations, open houses, campus visits, and community outreach. The nature of the position occasionally requires evening and weekend work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary work location is in the Admissions Office on LSSU campus in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, supporting broad-based enrollment initiatives. The role also requires regular territory travel to represent LSSU at community events, college fairs, conferences, competitions, and educational institutions, all utilizing university-provided transportation. Travel is most intense during the months of September-November and February-April but does occur throughout the year.
Duties include:
• Extensive communication including, but not limited to: face-to-face, presentations, texting, calling, individual meetings, campus tours, virtual meetings and presentations
• Professionally representing LSSU at various educational and community programs
• Cultivating prospective students and their families
• Applicant tracking, reporting, and updating
• Coaching prospective students on college admissions and applications
• Leveraging data to prioritize recruitment initiatives and time allocation
• Being fiscally responsible in the utilization of university resources, supplies and the execution of travel reimbursement of expenses
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree
· High level of computer literacy
· Exceptional organizational and communication skills
· Sound judgment
· Highly effective interpersonal skills –from approachability to active listening active listening to written, verbal, and digital communication
· Professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy
· Ability to function independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in a higher-education environment
· Experience with public presentation
· Knowledge of student information systems
· Knowledge of customer relationship management systems
· High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
Physical Demands:
Adequate physical fitness to maintain long hours (sometimes) and busy schedule (always)

Work Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Occasional evening and/or weekend work required.
