Lake Superior State University's Center for Freshwater Research and Education is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to lead a large interdisciplinary research on the effects of oil spills in freshwater ecosystems. The postdoctoral associate will oversee outdoor mesocosm experiments on multi-trophic level effects of oil spills, contribute to research proposals, lead collaborative manuscripts for submission to scientific journals, and mentor undergraduate students. Activities will be coordinated with the project team, which is composed of personnel from CFRE and collaborators at Natural Resources Canada, Algoma University, the University of Windsor, and the US Coast Guard Great Lakes Oil Spill Center of Expertise.
We seek applicants with a Ph.D. or ABD in a relevant field (e.g., aquatic toxicology, ecology, fisheries science), experience collecting, managing, and analyzing complex datasets, strong quantitative skills and competency in R, demonstrated ability to prepare and publish peer-reviewed publications, and an ability to work with multiple collaborators and stakeholders
